TEXAS CITY — Crime Stoppers offered a $1,000 reward for information leading to the arrest of a suspect who robbed a man in an alley, authorities said Thursday.
A suspect, described as black, 30 to 40 years old, medium build and standing 5 feet 10 inches to 6 feet tall, punched a man, 54, in an alley in the 1100 block of Hunter Drive at 9:18 p.m. Wednesday, Texas City police said.
The man recovered his wallet but refused medical treatment, police said.
Police asked anyone with information to call Crime Stoppers at 409-945-8477.
FRIENDSWOOD — A city public works employee found an “elderly” man who appeared to have died of a self-inflicted gunshot wound in a vacant lot, authorities said.
Friendswood police responded to the 3:23 p.m. call from the Imperial Gardens subdivision and found the man dead of a gunshot wound to his head.
The shooting appeared to be self inflicted, police said.
GALVESTON — A man who fell from a three-story balcony apparently was intoxicated, and police don’t suspect foul play, authorities said Thursday.
The 28-year-old Galveston resident fell at 1:05 a.m. Wednesday from his balcony at the Victorian Resort and Conference Center, 6300 Seawall Blvd., Galveston police said.
Police plan to interview the man when he is able to speak with officers. A police report didn’t list the severity of his injuries.
GALVESTON — A tow-truck driver was arrested on municipal warrants, authorities said Thursday.
Galveston police received a call early Wednesday evening, reporting a wrecker was stealing vehicles.
Police detained the driver on outstanding municipal warrants. Police declined to comment on the ongoing investigation. The driver was not charged with vehicle theft.
