GALVESTON — The recently opened Sonic restaurant on Seawall Boulevard was robbed late Tuesday by a man wearing a ski mask.
A gunman entered the restaurant in the 6500 block of Seawall Boulevard about 11:45 p.m. shortly after it closed, police said. He then made five employees lie on the ground and demanded money.
Police didn’t disclose the amount of money stolen.
No one was physically injured.
Police continued to hunt for the bandit, who fled on foot.
In addition to the dark ski mask, the bandit was wearing a white T-shirt and tan pants. He was approximately 5 feet 6 inches tall and weighed 160 to 175 pounds.

No Injuries In Five-Car Pileup
FRIENDSWOOD — A five-car accident Tuesday morning tied up morning commute traffic for more than 30 minutes.
According to police reports, the accident occurred at 8:18 a.m. at the intersection of FM 2351 and Beamer Road.
A police spokesperson said that a 36-year-old Friendswood man driving a Chevy Suburban rear-ended a Saturn that was waiting in line at a traffic signal in an eastbound lane of FM 2351.
The Saturn was forced under the Jeep in front of it, which was in turn pushed into the back of a Kia. The Kia was shoved into the back of a Toyota.
Police said no one was injured and no citations were issued.
Four officers were called to the scene in an attempt to keep morning traffic rolling.
