Holiday in the Harbor — The annual League City Holiday Ball will be this Saturday at South Shore Harbour Resort Hotel. Doors open at 6:30 p.m. for cocktails and silent auction. Dress for the affair is cruiseline clothing, vintage Titanic clothing or black-tie optional. Tickets are $50 per person. Sixth annual Galveston Harbor Parade of Lights — The Sixth annual Galveston Harbor Parade of Lights will usher in the Christmas season at 6 p.m. Saturday. While the parade doesn’t start until 6 p.m., Santa Claus will start the day by riding in a horse-drawn carriage through downtown, arriving about 1 p.m. at Saengerfest Park. At the park, kids can have their picture taken with the jolly ol’ fellow. Santa will board the carriage again at 5 p.m., arriving at Pier 21 to signal the start of the parade. Seaside Treasure Festival — From 9 a.m. to 4 p.m. Saturday, Moody Memorial First United Methodist Church, 2803 53rd St., Galveston, will have the Seaside Treasure Festival arts and crafts fair. There will be more than 100 vendors from throughout Texas along with a silent auction. Santa will be available for pictures. There will be baked goods for sale, and the SPCA will have pets available for adoption. The festival benefits the Children’s Advocacy Center, Women’s Crisis Center, Meals on Wheels and youth scholarships for mission trips and assisting with minor repairs on homes where the owners can no longer do the repairs themselves.
Home 4 the Holidays — The Bay Area SPCA is inviting the public to its first “Home 4 the Holidays” open house from 1 p.m. to 4 p.m. Saturday. The new Kathleen C. Cailloux puppy kennel will be dedicated at 2 p.m. The new kennel is at 3000 Ave. R in San Leon.

Shostakovitch Symphony — The Galveston Symphony Orchestra will perform the epic Symphony No. 5 by Russian composer Dmitri Shostakovitch at a concert at 7 p.m., Sunday at The Grand 1894 Opera House, 2020 Postoffice St., Galveston.
